OSCR Charity Survey 2016 – 2020
Volunteer Scotland has analysed the volunteering questions from OSCR’s charity surveys in 2016, 2018 and 2020 to provide new evidence on volunteering in the charity sector.
Our latest report on the 2020 survey examines how variables such as charity income, number of paid staff and age of charity influences:
- The public’s trust in charities and how this varies between those engaging paid staff and those involving volunteers only
- The proportion of charities involving trustees only versus trustees and other volunteers
- The extent to which volunteer recruitment is an issue for charities.

Volunteer Scotland's 2020 Report
The 2020 data is compared to previous survey evidence from 2016 and 2018 where this has been possible.
