One Month to Go Until Volunteers’ Week 2026
With just one month to go, organisations across the UK are gearing up for Volunteers’ Week 2026, the annual celebration recognising the vital contribution volunteers make to communities nationwide.
Taking place from Monday 1 to Sunday 7 June 2026, Volunteers’ Week is a UK-wide campaign that brings together charities, voluntary organisations, community groups and individuals to say thank you to current and former volunteers. First launched in 1984, the campaign has been running for more than 40 years, providing a dedicated moment each year to celebrate the impact of volunteering.
The week highlights both the diversity and unity of volunteering across the UK, showcasing how people from all backgrounds come together to support causes they care about.
Volunteer Scotland is proud to once again be a lead partner of the campaign. Margaret Starkie, Engagement and Communications Manager at Volunteer Scotland, said:

Whether organisations are planning events, sharing messages of thanks, or encouraging people to explore volunteering opportunities, the Volunteers’ Week website offers a wide range of support. Free campaign resources are available to download, including branding assets, promotional materials and creative ideas to help celebrations have maximum impact.
The Volunteers’ Week Shop is also open*, offering a range of fun and fully customisable merchandise to support celebrations and volunteer recognition. Items include T-shirts, tote bags, mugs, badges, stationery and thank you cards, alongside new additions such as cake toppers, trolley keyrings and water bottles. The shop provides practical and thoughtful options for events, team activities and volunteer gifts.
Volunteers’ Week also includes some key dates to look out for, including Power of Youth Day on Tuesday 2 June, celebrating the impact of young volunteers, and The Big Do, running from Thursday 5 to Sunday 8 June, bringing together activities such as The Big Lunch and The Big Help Out.
