'ROAR - Connections For Life' achieves Investing In Volunteers
13 January 2015
Congratulations to our latest organisation to achieve IIV: 'Roar - Connections for Life' who achieved their award in October.
ROAR is based in Paisley and runs clubs throughout Renfrewshire. They work in partnership with older people and local communities to improve health and well being, maximising independence and reducing isolation. Their work is carried out by a fantastic team of 120 volunteers.
The assessor was impressed by the commitment to the volunteers and the organisation's desire to give them the best possible experience and efforts to ensure they know how valued they are.
A manager from Roar commented, "Volunteers are at the core of our business. if there were no volunteers there wouldn't be Roar. With this in mind we wanted to find out if we could be doing more to maximise our volunteer's development and ensure that we, as an organisation, had the ability to do so."
Achieving the Investing in Volunteers award is recognition of best practice across the whole organisation, highlighting the impact of volunteers to service delivery.
