FAQs for Posting Opportunities

  • How do I advertise my opportunities on Volunteer Scotland?

    Here's how you can advertise:

    Locally:  If your organisation has volunteer roles based in one or two local authority area's in Scotland, you should contact the relevant local Volunteer Centre(s) and they can help with getting your opportunities advertised. Details of all local offices can be found here.

    Centrally:  If your organisation has volunteer roles based across several local authority areas in Scotland, you may be eligible to use the Volunteering Zone to publish them directly to our website.  More information can be found here.

  • Can I advertise opportunities that take place outwith Scotland?

    No as we only advertise opportunities that are based in Scotland.

  • How much does it cost?

    Nothing! This is a free service.

  • How do I update or remove my organisations opportunities?

    We do not directly manage the opportunities that are a displayed in our opportunity search and are not responsible for their content. In order for opportunities to be updated or removed you would contact the originating organisation that published the opportunity.

    Alternatively you can click on the link for Report this opportunity on the opportunity detail page.

    If your opportunity was published using the Volunteering Zone you would need to contact the individual within your organisation that has access.

  • Can I manage my opportunities online?

    If your organisation has volunteer roles based across several local authority areas in Scotland, you may be eligible to use the Volunteering Zone to publish them directly to our website.  More information can be found here.

  • How do volunteers apply for opportunities?

    On each opportunity page there is a button at the bottom for volunteers to register interest. Here they will complete a form and once submitted a notification email will be sent to the designated contact for the opportunity.

    It is the responsibility of the opportunity contact to respond to volunteer enquiries and Volunteer Scotland do not manage or respond to these on behalf of organsiations.
