Our philosophy is to promote volunteering opportunities as widely as possible.
Volunteer Scotland do not directly manage or advertise opportunities on behalf of organisations and are not responsible for the content of advertisements. The opportunities displayed in our opportunity search have been created and published either by local Volunteer Centres or by the organisations themselves.
Locally: If your organisation has volunteer roles based in one or two local authority areas in Scotland, you should contact the relevant local Volunteer Centre(s) and they can help with getting your opportunities advertised.

Centrally: If your organisation has volunteer roles based across several local authority areas in Scotland, you may be eligible to use the Volunteering Zone to publish them directly to our website.

Opportunities related to Coronavirus will continue to be highlighted on the Opportunity Search site under the 'CoronavirusVolunteering' tab. If relevant please include any of the following keywords in your opportunity description: coronavirus, corona, covid-19, covid19, covid, coronovirus, or pandemic. All case insensitive.
The latest Scottish Government guidance came into effect on 5 January 2021 with 'Stay at home' regulations in place in most local authority areas. Please review the Coronavirus local protection levels in your area before restarting your volunteering activities and undertake a risk assessment to ensure volunteering resumes safely. Most sector associations and governing bodies are issuing their own advice in this regard. A typical risk assessment can be viewed here.
Review the latest advice from Scottish Government around large gatherings. Once it is clearly safe to do so, why not advertise via our Events List - just complete our simple online form for each event that you would like to advertise. We will then publish your event to our site and may also feature it on social media and any upcoming newsletters.
