About Opportunity

Volunteering Matters, the UK's leading volunteering charity are looking to recruit Volunteer Befrienders in Clackmannanshire from January 2018!  Are you looking to make a positive difference to a young person? With social isolation, inequality and child poverty on the rise, the need for young people to have a reliable, trusting and positive role model is higher than ever. If you care passionately about child welfare or are looking to gain relevant experience in health, social care or education- befriend a child today.  Once recruited and trained, volunteers are matched 1:1 with a young person and meet them regularly to participate in activities in the community. A victim of circumstance, your young person may have experienced social isolation, difficulties at home, at school or may have a disability. By giving up just a couple of hours every week or fortnight, you could make a real difference where it is needed most. For further information, or for an informal chat, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
