About Super Troop Holiday Week
We provide magical new experiences and opportunities for independence for children and young people with disabilities, through providing a holiday week in Edinburgh. A main goal of our week is to give our holiday-makers a chance to try new things - on our first holiday week in July 2018, trips out included The Yard, East Links Family Park, Gravity Trampoline centre, Fountain Park Ten Pin Bowling, The Raeburn, and M&Ds!
The holiday is based at Fettes College in Edinburgh. Previous volunteers have said: “I was new to this type of work, but felt utterly supported by everyone, and ready to go out of my comfort zone” and "The sense of mutual support and purpose made me feel like there was nothing we couldn’t handle”.
Awesome volunteers, who bring energy, enthusiasm, kindness and fun to the week! Is this you? We have two places (Senior Helper and Group Leader) available for male volunteers (due to gender balance needs).
The holiday is enormous fun - a genuinely life-changing experience and a fantastic opportunity for everyone involved
In 2017, Edinburgh Neuroscience researcher Sue Fletcher-Watson founded a local charity called SuperTroop, which provides residential holidays for children and young people with learning disabilities.
We provide magical new experiences and opportunities for independence for children and young people with disabilities. Our goal is to provide excellent holidays, creating an environment in which holiday makers feel surrounded by peers and friends. To achieve this, we work with a youthful team of volunteers recruited from Fettes College - the school also hosts the holiday.

On the application forms you will be asked your gender. This is to ensure we have enough male and female staff to provide personal care to the boys and girls on the holiday.
