Race for Life 10k is a great step up from our 5k events. The event is non-competitive and open to everyone – bring the whole family and walk, jog or run 10k at your own pace while raising valuable funds for Cancer Research UK’s lifesaving work
Our events simply couldn’t happen without the help and support of volunteers. Whether you are handing out medals, marshalling on the course, cheering participants on or stirring mud at an obstacle, you are making a real difference by giving your time. Whatever time and skills you’ve got to share, we’ve got the perfect role for you.
- EVENT DAY VOLUNTEER: Get stuck in with anything! From pitching flags and hanging banners to handing out water and medals, you definitely won’t be twiddling your thumbs
- COURSE MARSHAL VOLUNTEER: Cheer our runners, walkers and joggers as they take on the course and lift some spirits along the way. You’ll be the extra oomph they need to cross that finish line!
- ENQUIRIES VOLUNTEER: With the excitement of race day there’s bound to be questions! Help ease the nerves by supporting our runners and spectators with their queries.
About Cancer Research UK
At Cancer Research UK we pioneer research to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. With no government funding, our progress depends on your donations. In the 1970s, less than a quarter of people with cancer survived. But over the last 40 years, survival has doubled – today half will survive. Now, our ambition is to accelerate progress and see three-quarters of people surviving the disease by 2034.
