PVG and Signatory Training

A full day informative and interactive course providing the knowledge needed to carry out a signatory role in line with the PVG code of practice. We will take you through the whole PVG process, confirming what it means to be a signatory, learning how to determine what regulated work is, looking at the application process and the certificates you receive back afterwards and chatting through how to deal with vetting information. We will also discuss recruitment processes and confirm how and when to make a referral to Disclosure Scotland. Book your place today – 10 spaces available per session.

Signatory (Online)

Part 1 of 3 of our online courses

An information session providing the knowledge needed to carry out a Signatory role in line with the PVG code of practice. We will chat about what it means to be a Signatory for your organisation, having a close look at the code of practice and some policies you need to be aware off. We will chat through the application process and the certificates you receive back afterwards, paying attention also to vetting information and how you deal with this information fairly and appropriately.

Regulated Work (Online)

Part 2 of 3 of our online courses

An informative session providing the knowledge needed to carry out a Signatory role in line with the PVG code of practice. In this session we will be focussing on regulated work with children and protected adults. Afterwards you will be able to determine when regulated work is being carried out, what doesn’t fall into regulated work, and most importantly when PVG is going to be needed.

Recruitment and Referrals (Online)

Part 3 of 3 of our online courses

An informative session providing the knowledge needed to carry out a Signatory role in line with the PVG code of practice. We will be looking at recruitment processes and information you may need to provide to applicants concerning PVG. We will also discuss an Organisations legal obligation to make a referral to Disclosure Scotland under specific circumstances so you know when and if to do this.

Helping the Voluntary Sector Recruit Fairly (Online)

As part of the Scotland Works for You work the VSDS team have created the 'Helping the Voluntary Sector Recruit Fairly' training sessions to help organisations in this process. During this training you will be given the opportunity to address any concerns you may have in recruiting a volunteer who has a criminal record, look at how you as a group can offer opportunities to those with convictions, understand how stereotyping can impact behaviours, create procedures for considering people with conviction information, plus much more.
