Volunteer Scotland Disclosure Services (VSDS) are funded by Disclosure Scotland to provide free, expert support to voluntary organisations that require PVG scheme disclosures.
It is a legal requirement for all organisation who have individuals, volunteers and/or paid staff, carrying out regulated roles to receive PVG scheme disclosures before the individual carries out the role within the organisation.
By enrolling with VSDS, you will:
- Comply with the legal requirements when accessing PVG applications.
- Access free PVG checks for volunteers and access the Disclosure Scotland Online Result Service.
- Receive expert guidance and support from our skilled teams.
- Access free training to help you in your role and understand your legal requirements.
- Stay informed on changes via our newsletters and up-to-date resources on our website.
Step 1: Enrolment Criteria
Confirm that your organisation:
- is a qualifying voluntary organisation (e.g. registered charity or not-for-profit)
- has individuals (volunteers and/or paid staff) who carry out work in Scotland or are recruited and managed in Scotland.
- has roles/positions that meet the following criteria:
(a) Offers services/projects that are targeted at children and/or protected adults. The services/projects must be more than ‘incidental’ to the purpose when having contact with children and/or protected adults. Roles within these services/projects may require PVG scheme membership.
