Volunteer Friendly Award
The Volunteer Friendly Award is a simple, user-friendly quality standard designed by Volunteer Dundee to support, recognise and reward groups who are good at involving volunteers.
Volunteer Scotland, Dundee Volunteer and Voluntary Action, Quality Scotland and several TSI’s are working in partnership to create a quality pipeline to define volunteer practice for Scotland for the first time. This quality pipeline is designed to support volunteer practitioners and develop volunteer programmes.
Volunteer Friendly will be a key award in this pipeline, Volunteer Friendly is based on the national UK standard Investing in Volunteers (IiV), it was designed for small groups/organisations who may not be ready to undertake IiV. IiV is currently going through a UK review, we feel this is the right time for Volunteer Friendly to go through a review as well, to ensure the relationship and links remain with IiV.
Volunteer Scotland will be responsible for taking Volunteer Friendly through the review in 2020. We started this review last month, with our first meeting with several TSI’s, this was a great start; positive, friendly and supportive meeting, we are pleased you are all willing to be part of this review.
We also think it is important to hear from different organisations and groups, to make sure we meet your needs and expectations. If you wish to have your say we would really appreciate if you could take the 10-15 minutes to complete this survey by Friday 2nd October 2020.
