UEFA EURO 2020 to incorporate our Volunteer Support Pot
26 June 2019
Volunteer Scotland and SFA are working in partnership to support volunteers who need extra financial support to volunteer at Euro 2020 in Glasgow.
The Volunteer Support Pot is managed by Volunteer Scotland and is a discretionary fund available to volunteers who face financial barriers that may prevent them becoming a volunteer. The aim is to ensure all volunteers have access to this opportunity and enjoy their experience as a volunteer at Euro 2020. This links to the principles of the joint STUC and Volunteer Scotland Charter, available to download here.
UEFA EURO 2020 will be the biggest EURO yet, with the tournament being held in 12 different countries. In total, 12,000 volunteers will be required in what will be the most diverse volunteer programme ever, which will provide a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the thousands of people involved. Glasgow Life will also have a team of host volunteers who will similarly be covered by a Volunteer Support Pot.
“We are delighted to work with SFA to deliver another successful Volunteer Support Pot. Previous support to volunteers through this programme were for the Commonwealth Games 2014, The European Championships 2018 and the most recent being The Solheim Cup 2019. This is a much-needed support for volunteers who may not normally have the opportunity to become a volunteer and take part in these fantastic sporting events.”

Volunteer applications are now closed. More details around the Volunteer Support Pot will be available soon.
