The Month of Community 2022

12 May 2022

The Month of Community is a UK wide campaign led by Eden Project Communities that brings together several campaigns and causes from across the UK to celebrate what makes our communities great.

Moc _stamp _-_pinkIt's an opportunity to bring our neighbourhoods closer, give back, and shine a light on the amazing communities we live in. Last year, over 15 million people took part in the first ever Month of Community, and this year it’s going to be even bigger and better. Jam-packed with brilliant causes, this June will see millions get together with their neighbours for The Big Lunch (2-5 June), with the fun continuing during Volunteers’ Week (1-7 June), Loneliness Awareness Week (June 13-17) and beyond, as many more charities get involved.

Margaret Starkie, Volunteer Scotland said:

"As lead for the Volunteers’ Week campaign in Scotland we’re excited to see the campaign be recognised and part of something that brings so many other worthy causes together. Volunteers are at the heart of all our communities and highlighting volunteer efforts, celebrating and thanking volunteers for all they do year-round is the continued focus of Volunteers’ Week UK wide. The Month of Community allows us to expand on that and continue celebrating the fantastic work of volunteers and communities across the country throughout the entire month of June and beyond."
