Get involved in Volunteers' Week, find out what's happening in your local area

28 May 2020

Volunteers’ Week takes place on the 1st to 7th June each year and has always been a ‘time to celebrate’ and thank all of our volunteers for their contribution throughout the year.

Volweek 17365x 250This year, the main focus is on creative ways to say thank you, to show our gratitude and to recognise each and every volunteer.

Throughout the first week of June, we’re asking everyone to say thanks in any creative way they want. We’ve provided some suggestions and you can share your thank you and read others on social media using the hashtag #volunteersweekscot and through our official campaign website.

Some examples of creativity already shared:

Raploch Community Partnership have shared some videos from their team thanking Stirling’s Volunteers and Active Travel Hub, Kilmarnock have penned a Thank You poem to their volunteers, past and present, for all they contribute to their services. See all here

Some local Volunteer Centres have published their Volunteers' Week plans:

ACVO in Aberdeen have created a special Thank You colour in poster that you can download and print, colour in, then share on social media to say thank you to volunteers. They will also be hosting a Volunteers’ Week Quiz on their social media so make sure you follow them @aberdeen_acvo on twitter to take part.

Clackmannanshire TSI are hosting a Community Breakfast on Tuesday 2nd June for Volunteers’ Week. This session will include a webinar from Project Scotland on Inclusive volunteering. Register to join here.
