Befriending Week 2019
14 October 2019
Every year, Befriending Week is celebrated from 1-7 November and putting a spotlight on ‘Health and Wellbeing’ is this year’s theme.
Befriending Week is a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness about the positive impact befriending makes in communities and in people’s lives. It is also a time to share with the wider public what befriending is, who it is for, how to get involved and the ways in which your organisation is tackling loneliness and social isolation through befriending.
This year's theme, 'Health & Wellbeing', encompasses how befriending can improve the health & wellbeing of both the befriendee and the befriender, ensuring the health & wellbeing of your organisation and its staff remains strong, and new research into technology, loneliness, community engagement, social prescribing and other topics surrounding health & wellbeing in its widest sense. Use #befriendingwell to join in the conversation on social media.
