Give the Gift of Time is about recruiting and rewarding volunteers across Helensburgh and Lomond. A host of organisations will be there with information about volunteering opportunities and we will have a coffee and cake café to say thank you to everyone who already volunteers. Organisations will also be able to share ideas and experiences of managing volunteers in our post-event workshop.

Community Links (South Lanarkshire) is teaming up with thousands of charities and voluntary organisations across Scotland in a celebration of the vital contribution made by volunteers.
From 1-7 June 2017, Volunteers’ Week Scotland will see a huge range of events take place in communities all over the country, from small awards ceremonies to large celebratory gatherings.
A ‘Volunteer Open Day’ will be held in Fairhill Community Café in Trinity Church on Monday 5th June between 11am-2pm
This will give you a chance to visit some of the projects, speak to current volunteers who run the projects and find out more about what opportunities are available.

Volunteering in Dementia Launch Event
To mark Volunteers' Week and Dementia Awareness Week Scotland, University of Stirling are hosting a joint event with the Volunteer Scotland to launch groundbreaking research into the role of volunteers in dementia care. This exciting project has brought together the diverse areas of volunteering, dementia care and housing through research with volunteers and those living with dementia in both Scotland and England, over a 3 year period. This new research provides important insights for all of those involved in volunteering in dementia care settings.

Not only do we want to stop this becoming landfill waste but we want to share these books appliances and clothes with future students! Join the Green & Blue Dream Team attending to the University halls and saving everything and anything which can go to a good home. You'll be amazed at what gets left behind and by the positive impacting this recycling has on students starting University the following year. Join in for a day of teamwork curiosity and laughter!
