Anita Dick and British Orienteering
17 June 2014
I applied to be a Clydesider and found the Volunteer Scotland website.
I quickly spotted the British Orienteering plea for volunteers in Lossiemouth and Forres.
I had not been in that part of Scotland so decided to combine a little bit of sightseeing with volunteering. Recently retired I had now plenty of time and even more inclination. I was made extremely welcome by all the organisers and the events were a real eye opener of a wonderful activity enjoyed by all ages and many nationalities.
I can honestly say I didn't hear a cross word by anyone over the two days I was there. I had no hesitation to offer my services for this year's three castles events and next year's championships (if they'll have me!)
