European Voluntary Service
Long-term opportunities for young people 18-30 to volunteer in Europe.
Volunteering placements are fully funded to ensure they are accessible to all. The programme offers a fantastic opportunity for young people to carry out full time volunteer roles for between 2 and 12 months.
The aim of EVS is to develop solidarity and promote active citizenship and mutual understanding among young people. Volunteering placements are open to young people who are legally residents in the UK. EVS is part of the European Commission Youth in Action Programme.
How does EVS work?
EVS is based on a partnership between a host project, the volunteer and a sending organisation. Volunteers choose from accredited EVS projects that interest them. Projects can focus on a variety of themes and areas, such as culture, youth, sports, social care, cultural heritage, arts, civil protection and the environment. Applications are made on the volunteers behalf and host projects select volunteers for the vacancies they have.
