About Health in Mind

Health in Mind was established in 1981 under the name of Edinburgh Association of Mental Health. In June 2003 we changed our name to Health in Mind to reflect the intention of the organisation to include the wider issues of wellbeing within its activities. Our mission is to encourage tolerance and greater understanding of mental health issues and to promote positive mental health and wellbeing of people who experience mental health difficulties. We do this through working in partnership with others and providing a unique and varied mix of services to help people cope with life's challenges.Services are currently available in Edinburgh, the Lothians and Borders and range from various talking therapies, befriending projects for local elderly people, support at home and access to free mental health information.
