About Opportunity

There are a variety of opportunities here as well as gardening, these include repair / building work around the smallholding and estate grounds, administration work and also marketing or publicity work. The project grows quality vegetables and eggs sold via a local box scheme. The smallholding project is an extension of The Bield at Blackruthven, a Christian retreat, which welcomes people from all walks of life. The healing environment is extended to people who have experienced long-term unemployment through learning disabilities by offering supported employment in a smallholding setting - growing herbs and vegetables on organic principles and keeping hens, ducks, geese and sheep. Produce is sold via a box scheme maintained by the smallholding team. Work includes gardening, tending animals, innovating from recycled materials, craft-making etc.

Travel Details

Blackruthven Farm (opp. farmhouse) by Tibbermore, West of Perth. Crieff Travel 155 service provides a bus mornings and afternoons, otherwise, cycle or come by car to the Bield at Blackruthven.
