Home from Hospital - Patient Transport

When We Need You

From 16/09/2015

About Opportunity

You will be transporting vulnerable people home after being discharged from hospital, making sure that they are safe and settled. This year we have already helped get over 1000 people home and have received incredible feedback from both patients and hospital staff. You will be joining a dedicated and friendly team and will always be part of a two person crew. You will ensure that the service is person centred, meeting the needs of our service users and delivered in accordance with the service standards and British Red Cross procedures. Typical duties will include providing transportation, resettlement and follow up support. You will provide emotional support to patients as well as ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times. You’ll also be performing routine pre-journey checks on vehicles, cleaning vehicles after use and ensuring all paperwork is completed and submitted in a timely manner. You’ll need to have great people skills and be comfortable dealing with a wide range of people including people that may be distressed or upset.
