About The Scottish International Airshow
The Scottish International Airshow (TSIA) is the trading name of the not-for profit company ‘The Airshow (Scotland) Ltd that was established to deliver the Airshow in Ayr. This is the fourth Airshow – the other events took place over the same weekend 2014 - 2016, which is the weekend previously occupied by the Leuchars Airshow.
The event takes place on Ayr’s Low Green on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd September 2017, and is a free public event during which a flying display will be supported by a number of ground attractions, including a funfair, armed forces villages, a performance arena, trade, careers and educational attractions, public catering, a bar and a number of stalls and exhibits.
The flying display includes a number of popular aircraft, including the Red Arrows. The area around the Low Green and the Esplanade will be closed to traffic and a crowd line placed along the beach. The flying display takes place over the sea and beach, centred on the Low Green, and commentated from the flying display control bus on the Esplanade.
A number of UK flying displays follow this model - the beach creates a fantastic natural arena and ensures that manoeuvres are not taking place over populated areas
- Flight Line Attendant - keeping the general public from crossing the flight line and cancelling the event.
- Site guide - map distribution, general happy helping!
