Current projects

Our bespoke project work helps groups and organisations create new and better ways to support and involve volunteers.

Below are some of the projects we are currently delivering.

Scotland's Best

A volunteering and employability programme with the goal of enhancing young people's employment prospects. We're one of several partners delivering the programme for Skills Development Scotland.

The Volunteer Support Pot

The Volunteer Support Pot was a fund made available to help volunteers participate at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. The objective was to ensure that no one would have to stop their volunteering due to hardship or exceptional costs.

Volunteer Scotland distributed funding of £625,000 provided by the BIG Lottery and Spirit of 2012 Trust. The funds were allocated based on an assessment of need. The fund is now closed.

GP Referral - Barriers and Enablers to Volunteering

We are currently working with several GP practices on this project which aims to create a better understanding of the role GPs are able to play in signposting older people to local preventative care support. It is anticipated the project will respond to the growing interest across Scotland in social prescribing and the ways in which volunteering contribute to preventative care.
